What is the Taster session?

The Taster session is the first step in your dog's transformation. Our expert team will meet with you at our facility in Santa Fe, Texas to assess your dog and find out exactly what level of support they need while at our Board & Train. During this session, you’ll receive our expert feedback and personalized advice on your current habits and routines, so you start seeing an improvement in your dog immediately. Not only that, you will also get the opportunity to meet our team and get a personal tour of our world renowned facility!

Are you a kennel?

No; we are not a kennel. Bellum K9, Inc. is a full service training facility in a home environment. You're dog will be in a friendly home environment on two and a half acres, where they get to socialize and play with both people and other doggies with constant supervision by professional trainers. All of the doggies who come to Bellum K9 have the same day in that they all get to go out and play. Here at Bellum K9, your dog will never sit in a kennel all day!

My dog is stubborn and impossible to train, do you really think you can help?

No dog is really impossible to train. We have had many doggie owners bring us their dog saying the same thing, only to be surprised by how well behaved their doggie is when we do the Board & Train Return. Keep in mind that we usually get the toughest of the tough dogs to train so we have lots of experience and success with the “impossible to train” dog. We love the challenge and we have yet to find the dog we could not train. While we can never promise absolute perfection from your dog (they are animals that are capable of thinking on their own and making their own decisions), we can promise that you will see improvements in your dog's behavior(s).

Am I allowed to go visit my dog while it is in Board & Train?

Yes. We would never stop you from seeing your doggie. We do encourage you to wait at least 3-5 days before visiting in order to give your dog time to adjust. Every dog is different and we find that some dogs have difficulties transitioning from visit mode back into training mode, so if you do visit it is always possible that you may set back your dog’s training, which could result in a longer stay. We call you once a week to give you an update, along with sending photos. 

Do I have to do 14 days of Board & Train?

While doing 14 days of our Board & Train is recommended, it is not required. You won't receive a training guarantee unless your dog stays for a minimum of 14 consecutive days, but you can send your dog to us for as little as two days. In addition, the more time that your dog spends at our Board & Train the more behaviors your dog will be able to learn, and the more solidly they will be instilled. For example: During ten days of Board & Train, we can work on roughly two behaviors (such as "stay" and "quiet"). It is best to discuss with our trainer what behaviors you would like your dog to learn and go from there.
